Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love

Many people are not aware of how important self-love is. It is true you can’t truly love someone else until you love yourself. You may be thinking, I love myself. But do you truly love yourself? No one is perfect and there is always room for improvement. I know you realize this, but because of this thinking, many people do not see themselves as the amazingly beautiful person they are. How we see ourselves is so important. How we see ourselves shows those around us what we expect from them.

If you see yourself in bad ways, so will others. It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy. People tend to want to live up to the images they see on television. We all need to stop looking towards others for self validation. There is not a person in this world who is not smart, beautiful, creative, and special in their own way.

Of course, even people with the strongest self-love and self-confidence, see themselves in bad ways at different points in their lives. It is very important in those times to remember the wonderful qualities that make you special, kind, creative, loving, beautiful, and unique. After all, every human being is one of a kind and has amazing God-given gifts. When we are feeling bad about ourselves, we forget this and need to remind ourselves of it. You may wonder how to do this? Spiritual healing through journaling is the answer. There are many things you can do through journaling that can help raise your self-esteem and confidence.

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love Activities

  • Prayer and Affirmations
  • Drawing
  • Making Lists
  • Asking And Answering Questions About Yourself

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love through Prayer and Affirmations

Many years ago, I was one of those people who thought affirmations were silly. I did not think they worked or were any help at all. That was until I started saying them. After a time, they helped a lot. It took time and a lot of work on my part to change my thinking.

If you tell yourself something repeatedly, you believe it. That is why it is so important to turn negative self-talk into positive self-talk. How can you turn negative self-talk into positive self-talk? You can do it by paying attention to the things you say to yourself. Like I can’t afford something or I am ugly? We all say bad things to and about yourself. We have to forgive ourselves for our negative self-talk. When we do say something negative, we should quickly think of something positive about ourselves.

Affirmations and prayers are another way to help heal negative self-talk. When we hear something repeatedly, it sinks into our mind and we believe what we are hearing.

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love Example Prayers and Affirmations

  • I am a creative person
  • I love myself unconditionally
  • I forgive myself for my past mistakes and learned my lessons from them
  • I am brave, strong, and powerful
  • I always speak in a calm but firm matter
  • I speak my truths
  • I am a kind, caring,loving person
  • I deserve respect, love, and kindness

These are just a few. There are many, many more. Try making some up for yourself.

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love Drawing

I am not good at drawing, but I know many people who are. Drawing is just like writing. It is an expression of yourself. Drawing also very therapeutic. Just let the line flow and see what happens. You never know you could create a masterpiece. Even signs and symbols are artwork. Remember, everything is beautiful.

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love Making List

Sometimes we forgive the good qualities we have, especially if we are having a bad day. I have found making lists of different things about myself helped me see myself from a better perspective. I found listing seven things was good for me. Your list can be any size, I recommended having 3-10 for each.

  • List ways you are kind
  • List ways you are creative
  • List the things that make you happy
  • List what makes you special
  • List thing you like doing
  • List ways you can improve yourself
  • List what is beautiful about you
  • List things you can do to make yourself feel good

Trying to come up with your own lists and see what joy it brings you. It may change the way you think about yourself.

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love Asking And Answering Questions About Yourself

Asking and answering questions about yourself can be very healing. Remember to be honest with yourself. You can become more self-aware by asking and answering questions about yourself, your past, even your mistakes. Keep in my mind that journaling is a personal thing and only you will know what you have written, so it’s alright to be totally honest with yourself. You can go deeper into things by asking yourself why at least three times.

Spiritual Healing Through Journaling: Self-Love Asking And Answering Questions About Yourself Example Questions

  • What do you like about yourself and why?
  • What emotions come to mind when you think about yourself and why?
  • How do you think other people see you and why?
  • How important are other people’s opinions about you and why?
  • Do you feel you are loved? By who? Why?
  • What do you love about yourself? Why?
  • What would you like to change about yourself and why?

I am sure if you think about it, there are many other questions you can ask yourself. Remember, asking and answering questions about yourself through journaling help you in many ways. You become more self-aware. You become gain self-forgiveness and understanding through journaling. These things help you grow and heal spiritually.

I hope this article helps you have a better understanding of yourself. And how to spiritually heal through journaling can lead to more self-love, forgiveness, and understanding.

The Spiritual Mystic’s Love and Light: Forgiveness

The Spiritual Mystic’s Love and Light

The Spiritual Mystic’s Loving Light is a part of this blog where I share inspiration, love, and kind words people can use every day. I want to help put a smile on people’s faces. I want to bring a little joy, happiness, and inspiration into the world. The Spiritual Mystic’s Loving Light is my way of bringing a little light into people’s day.

The Spiritual Mystic’s Love and Light: Forgiveness

We have all had bad things happen to us. It is important to learn forgiveness. Not for the people who have hurt you, but for yourself. When you do not forgive, you hold that anger and frustration in your energy field. If it stays there long enough, it can block your energy and cause health problems.

Forgiving others is hard enough! Did you know we often do more harm to ourselves than others do? We often get in the way of our our dreams because for whatever reason, we feel we deserve to have them come true. Learning to forgive ourselves is even more difficult.

We all make mistakes, it’s part of the learning process. More often than not, we are very hard on ourselves when we make mistakes. We need to learn how to see ourselves differently in order to forgive ourselves even more. We need to see ourselves as being human and learning from our mistakes.

There are some wonderful ways to learn forgiveness practices that will help you in the long run. It has proven meditation helps reduce stress. When we meditate on a problem, the answers come to us more easily. Meditation helps us focus. It can sometimes take days for the answers to come, but often they do come to us.

Learning to let go is another way of forgiveness. Some people hold grudges for little things that happen. This is where self-awareness and self-love come in. Know yourself well and understand holding a grudge is doing you more damage than good. It is worth it to hold on to that grudge.

We developed, learning to forgive and let go skills. It takes time and practice, start small and work your way through your most troublesome problems. Always try to give yourself and others the benefit of the doubt. Many of our hardest problems start with misunderstandings. Learning to forgive is not always easy, it takes time and practice.

Thanks for reading.

The Spiritual Mystic’s Loving Light: Never Give Up Hope

Spiritual Mystic’s Loving Light

The Spiritual Mystic’s Loving Light is a part of this blog where I share inspiration, love, and kind words, people can use every day. I want to help put a smile on people’s faces. I want to bring a little joy, happiness, and inspiration into the world. The Spiritual Mystic’s Loving Light is my way of a little light into people’s day.

The Spiritual Mystic’s Loving Light: Never Give Up Hope

Hope is something none of us can do without. I am often told by many people, the one thing they admire about me is, I never give up hope. Sometimes in my life, all I had was hope. Hope got me through.

I always try to look at the good side of everything. My dear husband, shows me the darker side of things. Not because he is a negative person. Because, he has to look at both sides of everything. He must point out things from all angles. It’s one thing I love about him. He always keeps me grounded.

For many years, I have had hopes and dreams I never gave up on. Working very hard, for a long time seeing no results. I had to change things many times. Losing things that were very important to me. But I never gave up hope. After about fifteen years, things are turning around. Good things are happening. Part of the reason things are changing so much for the better is I never gave up hope.

Another reason things started changing for the better was I change the way I looked at things. I always try to see the good in everything and everyone.

Changing the way, I saw myself was a tremendous help. I am a smart woman with great ideas that I want to share with the world. I did not always see myself this way. But, I learned how to build up my self-esteem and to love myself first. I started believing in myself and discovering all the wonderful things I was capable of. I became more self-aware.

It took time and effort to develop these skills. Self-love and self-esteem are things that should be taught at a young age. Self-worth and self-esteem are vital to any person. Sometimes life can widdle them away.

Never give up hope. The one thing you can always be certain in this world is things are always going to change. Change the way you perceive things and you can make them better. Try to see the good in every situation. And never give up hope.

The Spiritual Mystic’s Love and Light: Looking at Yourself in a Better Way

The Spiritual Mystic’s Love and Light

Yes, after some long thought, I brought back the Spiritual Mystic’s love and light. This time around, it’s going to be a little different. This time around the Spiritual Mystic’s love and light is going to be all about self-care, self-awareness, self healing and ways to make your life more spiritual. Of course that is pretty much what this whole blog is about, I share my journey about these things with you. But the Spiritual Mystic’s love and light is all about you, the reader, and helping you discover yourself.

The Spiritual Mystic’s Love and Light: Looking at Yourself in a Better Way

Most people do not see themselves for who they truly are. We are brought into a world that does not promote self-love and self-care. Sadly, the opposite is true. We are made to think by the media and other means if we are not perfect we are not good enough.

I am going to tell you a human truth. Every person is beautiful in their own way. It’s all about the way you see yourself. If you change the way you see yourself, others will change their view of you for the better.

I know changing the way you see yourself is difficult. I went through a tremendous change of view on the ways I saw myself. It took time and effort to change the way I saw myself, and it did not happen overnight. But, it worked for me and I am going to tell you, yes, it will work for you. If you will do the work and put in the effort to change yourself.

The Spiritual Mystic’s Love and Light: Looking at Yourself in a Better Way Using Self-Prayers and Matras

You may ask yourself what is a self-prayer or Matras? Self-prayers or Matras are nothing more than little sayings or prayers you tell yourself repeatedly throughout your day. Over time, you believe these prayers and Matras. They sink in as some people say.

Anything is possible if you think it’s possible. This was one of the first Matras, or self-prayer, I started using about 20 years ago. Back then I did not think self talk and Motras worked. Over time, I changed my view of Matras. I discovered yes; they work. I used them several times a day, every day. Using Matras is also a way to be more spiritual. Believe it or many spiritual healers and teachers use Matras daily.

Examples of Self-Prayer and Matras

I am beautiful inside and outside
I am brave and strong
I speak in a calm understanding matter
I can do this, I can do anything
I am not afraid
I will get this job
I am worthy of peace, love, happiness, and prosperity
I am great at what I do
I will overcome this
I am loved
I love myself
I am smart
I am creative
I am a good wife, mother, sister, husband, brother, father, extra
I will have a highly productive day
I will figure this out
I am a prominent business person
This will work
I see love everywhere

Remember, when using self-prayer or Matras, use them often. Over time, you will see a difference. The Matras and self-prayer examples are ones I have used. If they ring with you, then use them and try making up your own. Learn as much as possible and make it your own. I hope you found this article useful.

Much Love and Light
